Data under review

This data is not available right now. We are reviewing the data to determine if it can be made open to the public.

The NFB is a measure of the cost of basic healthy eating that represents current nutrition recommendations and average food purchasing patterns. PHUs annually collect data on costs of a predetermined list of food items that make up the NFB, as mandated in the Ontario Public Health Standards. The data is collected at the PHU level and is used to estimate a provincial average, a North/South comparison, and a breakdown by age and sex.
