Spring bedding crops and thrips (a major pest)

This dataset contains data relating to a study on the attractiveness of various spring bedding crops grown in Ontario to western flower thrips, the number one pest of greenhouse crops from 2015.

Various plant species and varieties commonly grown in the spring were assessed for their attractiveness to western flower thrips. Data from the study is used to advise crop protection recommendations, or plants could be utilized as "trap" or "indicator" plants.

Data contains plant type/variety, number of thrips found per week. The ministry will use this to demonstrate to growers that some varieties are more susceptible than others and that extra precautions might be needed.
