This dataset details the use of restrictive confinement for all individuals in Ontario’s adult correctional system.

Restrictive confinement captures individuals held in a unit regularly scheduled to be locked down for 17 hours or more per day. A placement in restrictive confinement refers to each day that a person is in a unit that was regularly scheduled to be locked down for 17 hours or more. Each row of data represents a day in restrictive confinement. An individual may have spent more than one day in restrictive confinement.
