This data breaks down bull elk, cow elk and total harvest numbers by:
- elk harvest area
- calendar year
Harvest numbers are based on mandatory reports received from elk tag holders. These are absolute numbers and are not statistically projected as with the bear, deer, and moose hunting activity and harvest estimates.

The administrative coverage areas that serve as a land base for elk monitoring and management. Indicate the areas of Ontario where hunting open seasons and harvest quotas may apply. Boundaries are described in the annual Hunting Regulations Summary. |

Calendar year. Within each calendar year hunting open seasons are defined for each Elk Harvest Area. |
Bull Harvest | Numeric |
Estimated number of bull elk harvested. Harvest numbers are based on mandatory reports received from elk tag holders. These are absolute numbers and not statistically projected like bear, deer, and moose. |
Cow Harvest | Numeric |
Estimated number of cow elk harvested. Harvest numbers are based on mandatory reports received from elk tag holders. These are absolute numbers and not statistically projected like bear, deer, and moose. |
Total Harvest | Numeric |
Estimated total number of elk harvested. Total Harvest was calculated by adding together the Bull Harvest and Cow Harvest. |
