All new security guards and private investigators must complete a basic training course.

Find a list of basic training providers, their location, telephone number and type of training they provide. This list is not endorsed by the ministry, nor is it a recommendation of any trainer or training program

Security guard and private investigator basic training is provided at:

private career colleges
community colleges
licensed agencies

Some businesses that employ their own security guards or private investigators offer them training directly. Employers can only provide this training to their own employees and prospective employees.
