This dataset contains a list of agricultural emergency or business continuity incidents reported to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, R.S.O. 1990 (EMPCA) is Ontario’s legal basis and framework for managing emergencies. It defines the authority, responsibilities, and safeguards for each ministry. Under the EMPCA and Order in Council (OIC) 1157/2009, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has a responsibility for agriculture and food emergencies. These include farm animal disease, food contamination, plant diseases and plan pest infestation.
