The data was collected to support the implementation of policies and initiatives related to economic clusters in Ontario. The data allows for comparison of the performance of clusters in Ontario against its peers in the USA. The data on employment, establishment, earnings and industry concentration are summarized by clusters and census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations in Ontario and by metropolitan/micropolitan areas in the USA. The definition of these clusters can be found at the US Cluster Mapping Project
