Get data on annual binational western Lake Erie index trawl netting

This dataset represents the results of inter-agency index trawl netting studies in Lake Erie. Netting occurs annually in August and is conducted through a partnership between Ontario and Ohio. Data is used to assess year, class and strength of species based on catches of:

  • young of the year
  • yearling
  • older fish

Catch rates for juvenile walleye and yellow perch are used to estimate survival rates and to forecast population abundance.
