This data tracks the number of days required for new meat inspectors to move through the training and evaluation process and become a certified inspector. Measured against a target of 200 days.

Ontario's meat inspectors, including meat hygiene officers and further processing inspectors, undergo comprehensive and rigorous training so they are thoroughly qualified to provide expert, consistent advice. Certification recognizes that an inspector appointed under the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001 is fully qualified to conduct all inspection duties and related responsibilities in Ontario's provincially licensed meat plants.
