This dataset contains data veterinarians with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and food safety experts contracted by the Ministry collect as part of audits conducted of licensed meat plants in Ontario to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Food Inspection Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs administers the Meat Plant Audit Program using veterinary and food safety experts as auditors. Auditors conduct onsite visits to review the overall structure, operations and documentation of a meat plant. Findings are assessed against the regulatory requirements, using the Meat Plant Guidelines (MPGs), to determine whether or not the plant is compliant. The Ministry maintains a record of audit findings and audit ratings as well as internal tracking records for the purposes of administrating the program.
