The Meat Inspection Program conducted an evaluation of its existing communications activities. This included a needs assessment for internal staff and meat plant operators in order to lay the foundation for a strong communication strategy.

Ontario’s meat inspection program and legislation are administered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The program has strict food safety control measures in place, including, among other things, procedures for sanitation, production practices and record keeping.
