This dataset contains data the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs collects as part of its inspection program by veterinarian visits to Ontario licensed meat plants.

Veterinarians appointed as inspectors under the Food Safety and Quality Act, 2001 conduct plant visits to provincially licensed abattoirs for regulatory and program purposes. Veterinary inspectors give approvals, orders and direction with regards to partial dressing of food animal carcasses, the disposal and/or processing of inedible materials (including specified risk materials), animal health and welfare, and alternative stunning methods used for the slaughter of food animals.
